An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an innovative, dynamic and impactful teacher to lead our high-performing humanities faculty from September 2018. The successful candidate will take a key leadership role in developing the subjects’ successful attainment even further at both GCSE and A level. We are looking for a professional who exhibits care, loyalty and determination, and who is committed to the development of outstanding teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will be a History teacher.  History is a very popular subject both at GCSE and A-Level.  A willingness and ability to teach across the age and ability range, up to and including A2 is essential.  The ability to teach Politics at A-Level would be desirable.

Physical Activity and Health & Wellbeing Coordinator
Location:   Windsor School Sport Partnership based in Windsor

Context:

The Windsor School Sport Partnership is based at The Windsor Boys’ School, and is a part of the Windsor Learning Partnership. Our primary focus is to support, develop, deliver and strategically lead Physical Education and School Sport development for our partner first, primary, middle and upper schools in Windsor. From September 2018 we are looking to expand our offer to schools so that we can support them with the Health & Wellbeing of their young people.

The Opportunity:

At the Windsor School Sport Partnership we constantly look to improve the experience of those young people involved in our events, projects and programmes. This role will put you at the heart of the school, working closely with national partners including the Youth Sport Trust, Sport England, Get Berkshire Active and key National Governing Bodies. You will play a key role in helping us build a successful and dynamic physical activity and health & wellbeing programme. For the right person this is a unique opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in supporting children and young people across Windsor, to be more resilient when facing the pressures of modern day life.

Physical Activity and Health & Wellbeing Coordinator Details:

This is a brand new full time position starting from September 2018, initially a one year fixed term contract. Part time applications will also be considered. The successful candidate will be required to work in the Windsor School Sport Partnership offices based at The Windsor Boys’ School, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only), and across a range of schools in Windsor.  The successful candidate will receive mentoring with experienced professionals, opportunities to access high quality professional development and career guidance if desired.  We are looking for someone who has experience in working with young people, ideally in school settings delivering health promotion, education or physical activity initiatives

Responsibilities:

Specifics: The successful candidate will primarily be working in schools supporting groups of young people, and will therefore need to be competent at delivering high quality sessions.  They will also require excellent computer skills especially in MS Excel and MS Word. Attention to detail will be essential, a clear understanding of the need to be professional at all times and be highly organised, excellent at forming relationships with teachers and other professionals. The partnership is a creative organisation therefore you will be expected to be passionate about physical activity, health and wellbeing and the opportunities that it can offer young people to develop.  The successful candidate should be willing to plan, develop and deliver innovative programmes, including the organisation and promotion of specific programmes, with the aim to improve young people’s health and emotional wellbeing. After your initial induction and training, your role is likely to include the following responsibilities:

  • To develop and lead targeted programmes, e.g. an emotional wellbeing programme, ActiveME, change4life, which will empower schools to make sustainable healthy changes in the future
  • To monitor the effectiveness and success of all programmes delivered within the role
  • To deliver and/or organise the CPD training courses which will build capacity within schools
  • To contribute to the administration, marketing and promotion of the service.
  • To support the WSSP collect and produce all necessary data information needed to demonstrate impact of service.
  • To ensure the health, safety and welfare of young people engaged in various programmes ensuring all safeguarding concerns are reported.
  • To maintain a high level of appropriate skills and knowledge by undertaking personal CPD and training
  • Post holders will be expected to be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to their posts and maybe asked to perform other duties.

It is essential that you have a full clean driving licence and are willing to drive as part of the role.

School Sport Officer/Coach

School Sport Officer/Coach Details:

This is a full time School Sport Officer/Coach position starting from September 2018, initially for a one year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be required to work in the Windsor School Sport Partnership offices based at The Windsor Boys’ School, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only), and across a range of schools in Windsor.  The School Sport Coach will receive one to one mentoring with experienced professionals, opportunities to access high quality professional development and career guidance if desired.  We are looking for someone who has experience in coaching young people in at least two different sports, with a multi-skill approach. They will need a minimum of two level 2 coaching qualifications.  It is essential that you have a full clean driving licence and are willing to drive as part of the role.

Responsibilities:

Specifics: The successful candidate will primarily be coaching and supporting teachers in schools across a range of sports, and will therefore need to be competent at delivering high quality lessons.  They will also require excellent computer skills especially in MS Excel and MS Word. Attention to detail will be essential, a clear understanding of the need to be professional at all times and be highly organised, excellent at forming relationships with teachers and other professionals. The partnership is a creative organisation therefore you will be expected to be passionate about sport and the opportunities that it can offer young people to develop.  The successful candidate should be willing to undertake a variety of sports administration tasks with a focus on delivering Windsor’s commitment for the 2018-19 competition calendar and coaching/teaching in schools across a range of sports. After your initial induction and training, your role is likely to include the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting the core team in delivering the annual competition calendar. Coaching and/or teaching across a range of sports in the Windsor Schools for approximately 3 to 4 days of the week, predominately in the Primary sector.
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of the Sports Leaders’ programme.
  • Supporting the partnership in effectively deploying Sports Leaders across Windsor in both educational and community based settings
  • Assisting in the promotion of all Windsor School Sport Partnership events including liaison with local media organisations
  • Assist and support in keeping our Web-site up to date.
  • Miscellaneous tasks as and when required by the organisation
