J15s steal the show at Bedford Regatta

The J15 coxed quad of Matthew King, Kieran Nathu, Matvei Morozov, Ollie Pilbrow and cox Bilal Ibrahim (yr 12) raced supurbly to claim victory at Bedford Regatta on Saturday.

Despite the pouring rain, they raced really well to make the final before putting on their best performance of the day to take the pewter tankards and stunning trophy.  Ollie Pilbrow said, “I really enjoy racing at Bedford - the atmosphere is amazing and the racing always tight - this feels good!”

Meanwhile the J14 Octuple raced but sadly lost as did the J16 eight, but not before having to re-row their race after a first round dead heat with Radley College. Unfortunately they were not able to match their first performance going down by 1 length.

All in all, a good days racing, which also saw several J14 crews out racing - no wins for them but lots of good experience.
