Five students from TWBS Bowls Society play for the county

On Sunday 3rd June Owen Davies, Fionn O’Neill, Kyle Ferguson and Bradley Harcup from Year 10 were selected to play for Berkshire County U25s against Oxfordshire.

The boys from Windsor performed very well in their first ever fixture for the county, in a match that was always going to be a challenge, since they were playing against bowlers who have a great deal more experience and time playing the game, some of whom are Junior International grade bowlers.  Owen in particular had only just returned from the school rugby tour to Canada and was still jet lagged and there was a sickness bug going around!  However, some good bowling from the boys and noticeably great bowling from Kyle Ferguson, resulted in a victory for Berkshire against Oxfordshire and the boys should be very pleased with this result!  One end in particular saw the rink from The Windsor Boys’ School pick up a sizeable five shots.

Also, congratulations to Callum Mockett in Year 9 who has also been selected this year to play for the county.  He however will be representing Buckinghamshire County U25s and with fixtures between Berkshire and Buckinghamshire still to come we could have five of our students all on the same green at the same time playing bowls at a similarly high county standard.
