This season has been a memorable one where the boys only lost one game and that was to an incredibly strong Eton side that had more than a full side of county representatives from all over the south.
This has been the strongest junior side that Windsor Boys’ has put out for some time. Reaching the last four in the county amongst Eton, Bradfield and wellington is some achievement.
Three of the players represented the 1st XI in the prestigious MCC game. Unsurprisingly, these three were the leading lights in the year 9 side. All three are impressive with both bat and ball. Josh Jayasingh troubled many a batsmen with his skilful leg breaks and displayed talented stroke play with the bat. Zain Ishaq was an outstanding fielder, accurate off spinner and classy batsman. The captain, Charlie Dunnett lead from the front with his away swinging seamers and scored many runs with his excellent stroke play - the highlight of which was an unbeaten 110 against Furze Platt. His leadership was excellent and he grew into the role as the season progressed.
I have mentioned three of the boys but they all deserve praise as they collectively were a superb outfit. I hope they all play club cricket and continue to develop their skills over the summer. I look forward to seeing how they progress next year. They have been a pleasure to work with.
