Today we held our famous Christmas Carol Service, which is always one of the big highlights of year. It is popular with students, staff, parents, former students and staff, and good friends of the school. The atmosphere in the church is set perfectly for reflecting on the start of Christmas and its true meaning, as well as bringing together the wider school community in a magnificent moment of togetherness and fraternity. Everyone leaves the church after the service with an enormous sense of well-being and an understanding of the special nature of the Windsor Boys School. I hope you managed to come to it today, or joined us last night.
Please read some final messages in this week’s news items; but there are two that I want to your draw attention to. Firstly there is a detailed round up of the rugby season, which has been really successful this term, one of the best and liveliest seasons for many years. The credit for this lies in the dedication of the coaching team, the willingness of the boys to play well in every sense, and the massive support of so many parents in so many dimensions. Again, it is a perfect example of what is good about this school.
Secondly, the Friends announced on Monday some extremely good news. The Uno Animo dinner has raised a massive £18,700, which is a record. This money will go directly in buying equipment and resources that we otherwise would have to go without, benefitting all the students in the school. Our parent and friend group is very special and this fundraising event shows just how wonderful and supportive of the students all the parents are. They are an integral part of the life of the school and we couldn’t do without them. Thank you for all your support.
I hope you all have a peaceful Christmas and enjoy the festive season. We will see all the students back on 7th January at the normal start time.
