Athletics (Summer Term)

Athletics is a major sport for the boys and is one of the most successful sports in the summer term. Students in years 9 and 10 compete in both the local Knight Frank and District Championships as well as in the ESAA Track and Field Cup. Training occurs every Friday after school at TVAC and is perfect opportunity to give any event a try.

In recent years the school has won all local athletics competitions and will regularly qualify for the ESAA Track and Field Cup final, ranking the school in the top 12 on the country.

In addition to this, year in and year out, the school produces athletes that go on to represent Berkshire and gain medals at the English Schools, a stepping stone event for many international athletes.

The team needed two more of the remaining team to finish in the top 25, however, sadly the heavy conditions had taken its toll as the team finished fourth overall, missing out on a National Final spot by just three places. It was a huge disappointment to the boys who gave everything they had, however, with two year 9 boys in the team, they will have another good chance of going one step further next...
