The Windsor Boys’ School has a Sixth Form of which we are justly proud. With 220 students choosing to study with us post-16, we retain and attract a very large number of boys who wish to share in the success we achieve and who are willing to take up the challenge we offer: to achieve as much as possible on an academic and extracurricular level. According to our value added indicators, we regularly average a top 20% place nationally for the progress made by students.
Our academic offer ranges from AS and A Levels in a range of ‘traditional’ and ‘non-traditional’ subjects to vocational qualifications – BTECs (more information can be found in this Options Booklet). These varied options enable students to attend top universities, apply for an apprenticeship or go straight into employment.
Outside the classroom, there are unparalleled opportunities to assume responsibility, to develop sporting and entrepreneurial skills, to achieve greater self-confidence and to gain new interests. We recognise that education is for the whole person and for life. Thus - apart from showing any potential admissions tutor or employer that there is much more to you than what appears on certificates - life-long interests, hobbies, habits and friendships flourish during your time in the Sixth Form: if you make the most of it.
The next two years are among the most important you will ever face. If you choose to enter our Sixth Form, you will be asked to commit to being the best young man you can be. Being a Sixth Former at The Windsor Boys’ School is a privileged position, and comes with attendant responsibilities. If you embrace these, you will have an excellent chance to achieve whatever it is that you are aiming for.
