Windsor Wolves take on Reading School in first game of the year

Twelve boys from year 9-12 went over to Reading School on Friday 6th October to play their first Ultimate Frisbee game of the year and for the new year 9s, their first game ever.

Splitting into two teams to face the opposition, we started slowly, not quite getting our bearings as squads that have never played together. Reading took the lead before half in both games, comfortably dominating our new boys. After making adjustments on our defense, we managed to trade out the rest of both games losing 8-3 and 9-4.

Our next two games were more successful, our defense was a lot tighter forcing the opponent to make more and more mistakes. Our offense worked itself out increasing in efficiency. Both games were a lot tighter in both score line and level. We won a game 6-4 and lost the over 5-3.

Overall, it was a positive outing, giving boys experience of their first ever game. We will look forward to playing them again during the indoor season over the winter period. Players are motivated to train harder to increase our chances of success next time we face them.
