Windsor Boys’ School 1st XV received kick-off into a strong headwind to begin the match. Reading started strong scoring 2 tries. But Windsor upped the intensity with strong carries by Jamie Jarvis and Calvin Barreto; Head Boy Jude crashed over for a try on his debut match of the season.
Jude has now committed to dropping Javelin and playing rugby permanently. The half ended 14-5. Windsor started the 2nd half with great pressure but after a couple of unfortunate mistakes the Reading ran in for their 3rd and 4th tries. After another period of higher intensity with great performances by Gus Bowles and Aiden Taylor; Eric Curless also crashed over the line with the support of the forward pack. With the time against them, Tom Macklin and Nathan Thompson both scored incredible individual tries ( Nathan’s was converted by Louis). Unfortunately there was not enough time and Reading won 28-22. We look forward to playing them at home in 10 days.
