House Rowing 2018

House Rowing was on Thursday after school. This event has become a real favourite of the house competitions; an electric atmosphere, pumping music, and lighting akin to a night club ensure all competitors are fired up to give their all over the 5000m team relay.

The four man rowing teams are allowed two helpers to assist with change overs, with the rower changing as quick as they can every 20 strokes. Each gives everything they can to cover as much distance as they can in their turn before handing over. It is tough, really tough.

The winners often do pull the hardest, however there is no doubt slick changeovers can help an under-powered team.

In the end the category winners were as follows

SENIOR ( Year 11/12/13): BURGESS HOUSE

Well done to everyone who competed in this high octane event!

The new Captain of Boats is Ferdy Cleare.

He takes over from Isaac Workman who has been an exceptional Captain through 2017, leading by example and in general being one of the nicest boys around. Fiercely determined though, Isaac won 2 National GOLD medals, 1 National SILVER medal, and was part of The Fawley Challenge Cup crew that won at Henley Royal Regatta

Big Shoes to follow!

However, Ferdy is a great young man, and is set to do a great job!
