On Wednesday 11th October The Windsor Boys’ School started the new campaign, in the ESFA National Cup, by beating Glynn School from Sutton 1 – 0. Windsor started strongly showing off their quality by dashing runs down each wing and deliveries into dangerous areas but couldn’t take the lead. Glynn School turned up the pressure on Windsor with a few long range efforts but with no real threat to Joe Whiter in the Windsor goal. Our boys kept a calm head and begin to draw fouls out of our opposition with almost every other touch. Late in the first half Windsor played a lofted ball from the right hand side and Alfie Mernagh found the back of the net.
The second half slowed down with both teams struggling to get into any kind of flow. The Windsor back four stood firm and gave a great demonstration of closing a game out.
Man of the Match: Brad Birchmore
Congratulations to Gus Bowles becoming Captain and Sam Pausey becoming Vice Captain.
