World Book Day 2018

On the 1st of March, the author Curtis Jobling came into school to talk to us about his work. He started off by telling us about his early life, about how he animates and created the first version of Bob the Builder, followed up by showing us his amazing drawing skills!

Then we competed in a quiz game, where we had to guess whether the picture he showed to us was a hairy man, or a werewolf, which proved to bring out the competitive sides of some of us as well as enjoyment.

After reading out a thrilling extract from one of his gripping horror books, Max Helsing: Monster Hunter, he answered any questions we had.  It was a great visit and we really enjoyed his presentation!

Last week was a busy ‘World Book Day’ week for the English department with TWBS hosting two author visits.

We were delighted to welcome Tarun Matharu, author of ’The Summoner’ series and Curtis Jobling author of teen horror books as well as being the illustrator who designed Bob the Builder and other children’s animations including RaaRaa the Noisy Lion.
